The Beginning of the Namaste Fund
Over the years individuals have enquired, due to financial circumstances,
whether there was a way they could attend programs at a lower cost.
On the occasion of Sr. Jane McDonell's 50th jubilee in October 2014,
Loretto Maryholme Spirituality Centre set up the Namaste Fund
with generous donations given at this celebration and with subsequent contributions.
In keeping with the spirit and charism of Mary Ward,
founder of the Loretto Sisters of The Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (IBVM),
this initiative puts into action the values and desires expressed in the Constitutions of the IBVM Sisters.
"In a world of inequality and oppression we stand with
those exploited in any way by unjust systems and structures.
Of particular concern to us are injustices
that prevent women and men from becoming fully and freely
the human persons God created them to be." C2.8
"Care of faith and education remain central to our tradition.
Whether we work in justice, welfare, spiritual,
academic, youth or other ministries,
we bring the witness of faith and spirituality and
the freedom of education to whatever we do." C2.10
The Centre gratefully appreciates the ability to offer financial assistance to those who need it.
Further donations are welcomed and requested. Tax receipts will be issued for amounts $20 or more.
Please contact us at 905-476-4013 to make a credit card payment or send a cheque payable to
