Welcome to Loretto Maryholme Spirituality Centre

Whether you come for a short or extended stay give yourself time in this sacred space to gain some perspective. Return to home and workplace feeling rested and strengthened.

The facilities are best suited to those who desire a peaceful atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Individuals, couples, women's and men's groups, church and school staffs, justice and social service agencies, planning and development groups, yoga and bodywork programs, artists and writers, and other similar individuals and organizations appreciate this sacred space.   

We hope your stay will be one that is blessed and upon your departure you will be refreshed and renewed in mind, body and spirit.

 A few notes to help you enjoy your stay...
  • Maryholme is a bottled-water-free facility. We encourage guests to use the water from the water cooler (which we refill from the filtered kitchen tap), or use the glass water pitchers, or bring their own refillable water bottles and use our tap water...
  • We strive to be as scent-free as possible, and we encourage guests to be considerate of those with chemical sensitivities by not using incense, air fresheners etc…
  • For fire safety reasons, we ask that you not use wax candles. We invite you to enjoy our battery-operated candles instead.
  • Sheets and towels are provided by the Centre during our Retreats/Programs. For group bookings and private retreats they can be purchased for $15/stay pp during group bookings and private retreats - or you  can also bring your own sheets, pillow case & towels instead.
  • Edgar House kitchen is fully equipped with 2 stoves, 2 fridges, dishwasher, coffee makers, kettle and microwave, tea towels, dish soap etc. Fensom Cottage is equipped with 1 stove, 1 fridge, and minor appliances. Cabins are equipped with hot plates, bar fridges, and smaller appliances. Groups are welcome to use our plates, cutlery, mugs and glasses rather than bringing disposables.
  • If bringing disposables, please ensure that they are compostable or recyclable. If you have questions about where to purchase, please inquire.
  • We are happy for our guests to use our cloth napkins rather than bringing paper serviettes.
  • WiFi is available across most of the property. The network and password information is posted throughout the buildings. 
  • Regrettably but firmly, no minors and no pets. See our policy on Service Animals below.
  • We encourage guests to allow for some clean up time at the end of their stay when planning programming. We encourage our guests to participate in the care of our centre, by emptying garbage, returning furniture to its original place, sweeping or spot mopping if there are lots of crumbs or spills and leaving the kitchen clean neat and tidy. Some groups take a pic when they arrive if they think they will be moving furniture and are worried they won’t remember where it belongs afterwards!
  • Edgar House and Fensom Cottage are heated by a gas furnace and all rooms have supplementary electric baseboard heaters, as well as cooled by central cooling, with supplementary standing fans in each bedroom. Cabins are electrically heated, and have window units and standing fans in each sleeping area. All buildings have ceiling fans.
  • We encourage all guests to participate in our Blessing Practice and our Acknowledgement of First Nations Territory.

Service Animal Policy

For Individual Private Personal Retreats, Private Group Retreats, and Loretto Maryholme
Retreat/Program Registrations, a refundable service animal deposit is required when registering with a service animal, for any overnight retreat.
The deposit amounts are as follows:
· $100 for a 2, 3 or 4-day retreat/program
· $125 for a 5 or 6-day retreat/program
· $150 for a 7 or 8-day retreat/program
Assuming there are no damages or need for additional cleaning, the full deposit amount, less a 10% inspection fee, will be refunded to your credit card within fourteen days of your departure from the centre. However, in cases where there is any damage or additional cleaning required due to the service animal, the refund will be adjusted to cover the time and work needed to restore the cabin or grounds to their original state.
Deposits can only be made using Visa or Mastercard at this time.
